What you will do

• Serve as the CONUS (and global) point of contact for network issues, configuration management, and communications interconnection.
• Advise and consult on LAN/WLAN/WAN design, implementation, deployment, and management to support the MHS mission and performance targets.
• Resolve complex network and routing protocol problems across OSI layers using diagnostics and administration tools (e.g., Orion SolarWinds, ARMIS, Ansible).
• Improve LAN/WLAN/WAN security by establishing and configuring firewalls, VPN devices, and IDSs to protect MTF systems.
• Recommend and document network changes (tuning/upgrades), maintain standards/procedures, and coordinate with the NetMOD Network Standards Team.
• Lead/participate in projects and provide proactive input on standardization policies and best-practice procedures.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain, maintain, and access classified information at the Secret level.
• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are required.
• Mastery of networking protocols/technologies including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, SMTP/HTTP/HTTPS, BGP/OSPF/EIGRP, VRRP/RSTP, and relevant DoD/DHA communications standards.
• Direct experience with routed, switched, and shared LAN environments using Microsoft OS, Windows Active Directory, UNIX, and OpenVMS; experience with routers, switches, and terminal servers.
• Experience with network diagnostics and physical/network testing tools (e.g., OTDR, cable testers, network sniffers) and EIA/TIA cable standards.
• Clear communication skills for government officials, medical professionals, and specialized technical personnel (verbal and written).
