Location: Hybrid (3 days office / 2 days home). Must be based in Leeds, Manchester, or Birmingham, UK

What you will do

• Review and support the most complex and high-value underwriting referrals.
• Monitor and analyze overall portfolio performance to identify opportunities for profitable growth.
• Influence underwriting governance, trading strategy, and product enhancements.
• Coach and support underwriting teams across the business to ensure technical excellence.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders across Underwriting, Claims, Actuarial, and Distribution.
• Challenge existing processes to drive innovation and reduce complexity while maintaining discipline.

Requirements

• Significant commercial underwriting experience.
• Strong technical capability in handling complex referrals and larger risks.
• Knowledge of commercial liability and/or property insurance.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Must be based in the UK (Leeds, Manchester, or Birmingham)

Nice to have

• Care sector underwriting experience.
• Experience within commercial combined business.
• Exposure to portfolio management activities or delegated authority business.
• CII qualifications or willingness to pursue professional studies.
