What you will do
- Own and manage a pipeline of complex investor suspense files including escalations and non-routine conditions
- Research root causes and determine effective resolutions for challenging mortgage file issues
- Recalculate income, interpret underwriting findings, and assess mortgage documentation
- Validate investor conditions and escalate or challenge issues as appropriate
- Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to resolve documentation and process gaps
- Identify trends and recommend process improvements to enhance team consistency and effectiveness
Requirements
- Must have 5+ years of relevant mortgage operations experience including post-closing and investor suspense
- Strong knowledge of underwriting concepts, income calculation, and mortgage documentation review
- Ability to work independently with sound judgment in ambiguous, high-pressure situations
- Clear professional communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
- Comfort working remotely within the United States with limited exceptions
Nice to have
- Prior underwriting and direct investor suspense experience
- Familiarity with workflow tools like Airtable
- Experience in fast-growth or process-light environments
