TL;DR
ISP Network Support Engineer (MikroTik): Supporting customer-facing troubleshooting and production network operations across a multi-WAN ISP environment with an accent on BGP, SD-WAN, and wireless backhaul infrastructure. What you will do
- Troubleshoot complex connectivity issues including latency, packet loss, and routing instability.
- Configure and maintain production-grade networking equipment such as routers, firewalls, and CPE.
- Manage SD-WAN deployments, bonded WAN links, and wireless backhaul systems.
- Perform root cause analysis and document troubleshooting steps and configuration changes.
- Participate in rotating after-hours emergency support.
- Consult with business customers on network redundancy, failover strategies, and optimization.
Requirements
- Must be based in Costa Rica, Mexico, or Colombia
- Hands-on experience in ISP, WISP, FTTH, or MSP environments.
- Strong proficiency in routing and switching protocols including BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and NAT.
- Experience configuring firewalls, VPNs, and QoS policies.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and communicate technical issues clearly.
- Strong documentation skills for network diagrams and configuration management.
Nice to have
- Expertise in MikroTik RouterOS and Peplink SpeedFusion.
- Experience with wireless hardware from Cambium, Ubiquiti, Siklu, or Aviat.
- Background in VoIP troubleshooting and voice optimization.
- Familiarity with Starlink and hybrid WAN deployments.
