Finance Professional (Channel Strategy)

TL;DR

Finance Professional (Channel Strategy): Supporting the delivery, tracking, and optimisation of the Digital Business Strategy for Consumer products with an accent on channel performance reporting and budgeting. Focus on analyzing material variances, conducting trading insights, and assessing risks and opportunities for future channel volumes.

Location: Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days home). Must be based in Birmingham, Bristol, or London.

What you will do

• Produce weekly and monthly channel performance reports on sales volumes across Retail, Contact Centre, and Digital channels.
• Analyze material variances against targets and provide trading insights during weekly calls.
• Lead monthly reviews of Digital roadmap initiative performance with trading teams.
• Support the Budget cycle and in-year forecasting processes.
• Identify and assess risks and opportunities affecting future channel volumes, considering internal and external dynamics.
• Collaborate with Finance Managers and stakeholders to perform deep-dive analysis on customer price sensitivity and business case impacts.

Requirements

• Competency in variance analysis between different data sets (e.g., actuals vs target).
• Ability to evaluate multiple data sets and extract key messages.
• Intermediate Excel skills (vlookup, SUMIFs, etc.).
• Ability to challenge stakeholders effectively and manage own workload proactively.
• Must be based in or be able to work from Birmingham, Bristol, or London.

Nice to have

• At least 2 years of experience in commercial finance or a commercial role.
• Working towards an accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
