TL;DR

Group Data Management Lead (Data Governance): Implementing and uplifting the enterprise-wide data management framework to ensure consistent data standards, quality, and regulatory compliance across Group and Divisional teams. Focus on establishing metadata, data lineage, and data quality KPIs while driving accountability among Data Owners and Stewards.

What you will do

  • Lead the implementation and adoption of the Data Management Policy and operating model across Divisions and Group Functions.
  • Act as the enterprise subject matter expert for metadata, data lineage, data quality, and master/reference data.
  • Establish and monitor compliance measures, KPIs, and executive-level reporting to drive transparency.
  • Partner with Technology, Risk, Compliance, and Privacy teams to embed data management requirements.
  • Oversee data quality monitoring and the remediation of identified systemic issues.
  • Drive ownership and accountability across Data Owners, Data Stewards, and Data Custodians.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in data management, data governance, or data risk within a complex enterprise environment.
  • Strong expertise in metadata management, data lineage, and data quality disciplines.
  • Proven ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders to drive outcomes.
  • Practical understanding of data architecture, data lifecycle processes, and management tooling.
  • Must be based in Sydney, Australia

Nice to have

  • Experience in insurance or financial services, including alignment to APRA-style governance.
  • Familiarity with enterprise data governance platforms such as Collibra or Ataccama.
