TL;DR
Tech Lead, JavaScript Engineering (JavaScript, React, AWS Amplify): Lead a team of frontend and backend engineers building and maintaining web applications and JavaScript libraries with an accent on scalable architecture, code/design reviews, and agile delivery. Focus on planning and executing cross-stack projects, resolving risks and blockers, and guiding both technical and people leadership to improve system quality and team effectiveness.
Location: Santa Monica, California
Salary: $186,000 - $215,000 annually

What you will do
- Set team best practices and guidelines, and provide architectural guidance through design and code reviews.
- Own system(s) end-to-end, help define the architectural roadmap, and keep solutions scalable and maintainable.
- Plan and execute cross-stack projects: define technical requirements, estimate effort, scope work to deadlines, and manage agile processes.
- Coordinate with product owners, engineering teams, and stakeholders; triage risks/blockers and provide timely status updates.
- Experiment with new frameworks and tools to improve the system(s) and support creative solutions to customer issues.
- Develop people leadership skills: run 1:1s, give feedback and 360 reviews, support hiring/training, and foster best practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software experience.
- Strong track record shipping products into production.
- Experience coaching and mentoring team members.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, product, and stakeholder teams.
- Core understanding of web applications, including frontend architecture concepts, APIs, and vanilla JavaScript.
- Familiarity with JavaScript, React, and AWS Amplify.
