DevOps Engineer (GCP)

What you will do

• Configure and adapt system solutions to meet customer requirements for passenger experience products.
• Implement and maintain robust CI/CD chains and automated deployment methods across data centers and connected train fleets.
• Diagnose and resolve faults in Linux environments, virtualization platforms, and Kubernetes clusters.
• Build test specifications, perform test cycles, and document results to standardize test plans.
• Collaborate with R&D and data center administrators to optimize deployment efficiency and system maintenance.
• Manage the handover of systems to support staff and provide necessary training.

Requirements

• Must be based in or be able to work from the Hildesheim office.
• BSc in Computer Science or 3+ years of relevant sector experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Linux (Ubuntu/Debian), Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in scripting with Bash and Python.
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD, GitOps, Puppet, or Ansible.
• Knowledge of networking (firewalls, routing, iptables) and virtualization (VMware, Xen, or ProxMox).

Nice to have

• Certifications: PCEP/PCAP (Python), ZCU (Zabbix), or KCNA (Kubernetes).
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience with monitoring tools like Zabbix and Prometheus.
