TL;DR
Senior Software Engineer (Android): Architecting and maintaining the Android operating system for sustainable mobile devices with an accent on AOSP deep-dive analysis, system bring-up, and long-term lifecycle support. Focus on extending hardware longevity up to 8 years, performing complex root-cause analysis, and driving cross-device codebase consolidation.
Location: Must be based in Amsterdam (Hybrid role).

What you will do
- Integrate and maintain the Android operating system across the device portfolio.
- Perform in-depth analysis and root-cause investigation of software and hardware issues.
- Provide technical guidance to the engineering team and implement robust software fixes.
- Contribute to Android OS upgrades and long-term maintenance releases.
- Collaborate with quality and testing teams to validate fixes and ensure system integrity.
- Drive continuous improvement in software quality and development processes.
Requirements
- Must be based in Amsterdam.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in the Android ecosystem, specifically system bring-up and maintenance.
- Expert proficiency in C/C++, Rust, Java, and Kotlin.
- Strong experience with GNU/Linux and open-source development methodologies.
- Proficiency in English (primary internal language).
- Experience with unit/integration testing, Git, and basic scripting (Python/Shell).
Nice to have
- Expertise in Android HALs (camera, audio, WiFi, or Bluetooth).
