Postdoc Researcher (Aerial Robotics): Developing task-level planning and coordination methods for heterogeneous aerial robotic teams in construction with an accent on multi-agent planning, contact-rich interactions, and physics-aware digital twins. Location: Must be based in or be able to relocate to Delft, Netherlands

What you will do
- Develop task-level planning and coordination methods for heterogeneous aerial robotic teams.
- Collaborate with partners from TUM and ETH to perform real-world demonstrations of autonomous pavilion assembly.
- Build a physics-aware digital twin for aerial robotic construction to support validation and algorithm testing.
- Contribute to novel control and learning methods for aerial manipulators and multi-drone systems.
- Publish high-impact research in leading robotics venues and shape the research direction of the project.
- Supervise MSc and PhD students and contribute to relevant academic courses.
Requirements
- PhD degree in Robotics, Control, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong research background in multi-agent planning, aerial robotics, or optimal control.
- Strong programming skills in C++ and/or Python with experience in ROS or ROS 2.
- Experience with physics-based robotic simulators like Isaac Sim, MuJoCo, or PyBullet.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research and publish in peer-reviewed venues.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
