Data Architect (EdTech): Designing and governing data architecture for complex assessment systems to support learners and educational institutions with an accent on data modeling and strategic alignment. Location: Hybrid - Must be based in the UK (Manchester or Milton Keynes), requiring two days per week in the office.
Salary: £72,000 - £88,500 (depending on location)

What you will do
- Create and shape data architecture artifacts, including data models, dictionaries, and flow diagrams.
- Translate business capabilities into practical data requirements and explain complex decisions to stakeholders.
- Contribute to data strategy, governance standards, security policies, and retention procedures.
- Develop a data roadmap in collaboration with Solution Architects and Product Managers.
- Identify opportunities for business process improvements through changes in data management and transformation.
- Mentor and coach other team members to support their learning and development.
Requirements
- Proven experience producing architecture artifacts (data models, dictionaries, flows) to connect domain-level data.
- Expertise in understanding and explaining domain-level data to a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and its impact on data consistency.
- Experience managing data across products and microservice-based architectures.
- Computing degree or equivalent professional accreditation (e.g., BCS).
- Based in or able to commute to Manchester or Milton Keynes.
Nice to have
- Background in data engineering, solution architecture, or technical architecture.
- Familiarity with Microsoft and Azure environments.
- Experience with AI and machine-learning enabled data opportunities.
