TL;DR

Software Engineer (Backend): Designing, implementing, and operating critical, scalable services for the hirify.global ecosystem with an accent on user identity, friend graph, and core persistence layers. Focus on building high-availability systems, applying best practices in scalability and cost management, and leveraging AI tools to streamline development workflows.

Location: Must be based in the US (Bellevue, Los Angeles, New York, Palo Alto, San Francisco, or Seattle) and work in-office 4+ days per week.

What you will do

  • Design and maintain critical, scalable backend services including identity and persistence layers.
  • Collaborate across teams to translate product requirements into robust technical solutions.
  • Ensure high-quality code through rigorous testing, debugging, and performance optimization.
  • Advocate for operational excellence, availability, and cost-effective system design.
  • Utilize AI-driven engineering workflows to accelerate development while maintaining security and architectural integrity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6+ years of post-Bachelor’s software development experience (or equivalent Master's/PhD experience).
  • Proven track record of operating highly-available distributed systems at scale.
  • Proficiency in Java, C++, or Python.
  • Experience with NoSQL, Redis, Kubernetes, or cloud infrastructure (Google/AWS).
  • Must be able to work in-office 4+ days per week in designated US locations.
