What you will do

• Lead the chemistry organization and establish strategic direction for discovery and platform efforts.
• Build an experimental chemistry function covering organic, inorganic, and nanochemistry, as well as synthetic and analytical methods.
• Collaborate with Product, AI, and Engineering leadership to implement AI-informing and AI-driven experimentation.
• Scale the chemistry team and cultivate a culture of scientific rigor and excellence.
• Translate scientific discoveries into commercializable solutions to address global challenges.

Requirements

• PhD in Chemistry or a closely related discipline.
• 12+ years of experience in chemistry research.
• Demonstrated excellence in building and leading high-performing chemistry teams.
• Deep expertise in synthetic organic/inorganic and nanochemistry, retrosynthesis, and route design.
• Experience in process chemistry, formulation development, and analytical chemistry.
• Must be based in or be able to work from Cambridge, MA, USA.

Nice to have

• Experience in AI-enabled discovery or integrating ML insights into chemistry workflows.
• Experience building automated or robotics-enabled high-throughput chemistry platforms.
• Prior leadership experience at a growth-stage biotech or deep-tech company.
• Broad understanding of molecular design principles across therapeutics.
