What you will do
- Serve as the primary external representative to institutional donors (GFFO, BMZ), the Bundestag, and the media.
- Develop and execute corporate and private fundraising strategies to ensure long-term financial resilience.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a senior management team and a wider staff of approximately 190 people.
- Shape and steward the multi-year strategy for IRC DE, aligning it with global goals and local needs.
- Ensure the organization operates within all German statutory, regulatory, and quality frameworks.
- Manage strategic relationships with the Supervisory Board and Works Council.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in senior leadership roles within complex or matrixed organizations.
- Proven relationships with decision-makers in German federal/state government, the Bundestag, or major private sector stakeholders.
- Fluency in both German and English (written and spoken) is essential.
- Demonstrated track record of securing funding from institutional donors (e.g., GFFO, BMZ) and private sources.
- Experience as a public spokesperson and advocate on humanitarian, refugee, or integration topics.
Nice to have
- Direct experience with program delivery in Germany or international settings.
- Financial fluency for reporting and budget management.
- Experience leading organizational change and navigating uncertainty.
- Personal experience of forced migration or displacement.
