What you will do

• Develop hazard analyses and software safety assessments in accordance with MIL-STD-882 and AOP-52.
• Recommend safety features and controls for system design, equipment, and procedures.
• Flow down system safety requirements to suppliers and verify design implementation.
• Prepare technical documentation and present findings to independent government Safety Review Boards.
• Participate in accident investigations and identify corrective actions.
• Mentor and train early-career system safety engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• Must be a US Citizen to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance.
• Extensive experience implementing System Safety Programs per MIL-STD-882.
• Proficiency in developing and evaluating system safety requirements.
• Familiarity with Software Safety Programs per AOP-52 and DoD guidelines.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present to large groups.

Nice to have

• Experience with independent government Safety Review Boards.
• Knowledge of Human Factors Engineering and missile/launcher systems.
• Experience with DOORS requirements application and model-based engineering.
• Active Secret security clearance.
