What you will do

• Partner with leadership to evolve and standardize foundational architecture for a cloud-native, event-driven platform.
• Own developer experience, including tooling, CI pipeline performance, and dependency management.
• Govern shared UI component standards and design system practices.
• Establish engineering standards through RFCs, ADRs, and architecture reviews.
• Define observability standards, SLO/SLI frameworks, and reliability practices in partnership with SRE.
• Manage and develop a team of senior engineers while maintaining hands-on technical involvement.

Requirements

• Must be based in Canada
• 5+ years of backend engineering experience with proficiency in Golang or similar languages.
• Deep experience with event-driven and async architectures like Kafka or NATS.
• Background in platform or infrastructure engineering with experience building shared internal platforms.
• Strong DevOps sensibility including CI/CD, containerization, and Kubernetes.
• Experience defining engineering standards at an organizational level.
• Experience managing or mentoring engineers.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with supporting frontend development and design systems.
• Experience in telecom, BSS/OSS, or similarly complex domain platforms.
