Location: Hybrid in Tokyo, Japan

What you will do

  • Define product baselines, standard requirements, system architecture, and ICDs.
  • Perform system-level trade-offs to evaluate design baseline changes for specific missions.
  • Manage technical budgets including mass, propellant, and pointing/landing accuracy.
  • Coordinate internal interfaces between various spacecraft subsystems.
  • Conduct risk assessments and define mitigation plans in collaboration with the Project Manager.
  • Develop and maintain Propulsion-related models using MBSE tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in at least two areas of propulsion: design, implementation, integration, V&V, or operations.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Matlab or Python.
  • Working level proficiency in English.
  • Strong sense of accountability, ownership, and ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

  • Experience with other subsystems: Structure, Thermal, Avionics, GNC, Communications, or on-board software.
  • Experience with requirement decomposition from mission to unit level.
  • Proficiency in FMECA, reliability analysis, and hazard analysis.
  • Experience with system-level testing (HIL, waterflow testing) and spacecraft operations.
  • Working level Japanese language skills.
