What you will do

• Define the end-to-end technical architecture of the Agentic Database data plane, including Postgres configuration, storage models, and WAL strategies.
• Make foundational architectural decisions regarding compute/storage separation, branching, and copy-on-write semantics.
• Lead technical Proof of Concepts (PoCs) from design and test harness creation to benchmarking and validation.
• Serve as the primary technical authority in architecture reviews and cross-team dependency resolution.
• Mentor senior and staff engineers on database internals and distributed systems design.
• Design integration architectures between the database and broader AI-enabled enterprise platforms.

Requirements

• 12+ years of industry experience in building large-scale distributed systems, databases, or cloud data infrastructure.
• Deep, hands-on Postgres expertise, including source-level understanding of query planners, storage layers, and MVCC.
• Systems programming proficiency in C or C++ with experience modifying large codebases.
• Must be based in the USA.
• Proven ability to own architecture end-to-end from design to production launch.
• Strong communication skills for technical documentation and executive summaries.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) and agent frameworks like LangChain or LangGraph.
• Experience with high-availability, multi-tenant database systems in cloud environments.
• Practical understanding of agentic workload patterns and their database requirements.
