What you will do

• Build and publish recurring reports on consumer finances to influence public policy and media discourse.
• Analyze aggregate user financial data to uncover trends relevant to a general audience.
• Collaborate with executives to create compelling talking points for media events and public appearances.
• Work with legal and PR teams to ensure data-driven communications are accurate and compliant.
• Represent the company at industry events to advocate for consumer-friendly financial practices.
• Develop repositories of approved public statements regarding financial trends and company positions.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in data science, economics, or statistics, preferably in fintech.
• 5+ years of experience using data to drive public conversation for a public company or advocacy organization.
• Strong SQL skills and experience managing large datasets with a focus on repeatability and transparency.
• Deep understanding of inferential statistics, specifically survey and sampling methods for population-level statements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for explaining complex topics to general audiences.
• Must be based in Washington, D.C.

• Experience in policy advocacy or working with regulatory bodies.
• Track record of published articles or media appearances on financial topics.
• Public speaking experience at conferences or to the media.
