Master Control Operator (Broadcast)

TL;DR

Master Control Operator (Broadcast): Maintaining and ensuring the reliability of NBCU Cable Networks channels with an accent on live execution of events for news, entertainment, and sports. Focus on manipulating commercial playlists, monitoring continuity, and performing control room duties.

Location: Must be based in Stamford, CT. This position is fully onsite with no ability to work hybrid or from home.

Salary: $55,000 - $70,000 yearly

What you will do

• Operate live sports master control using SNELL Morpheus and Amagi software to ensure broadcast reliability.
• Monitor and maintain continuity and availability for all networks and distribution channels.
• Perform control room duties as a Technical Director, Commercial Integration, and Associate Director for live events.
• Manage playlists and execute program, commercial, and marketing changes in a fast-paced environment.
• Perform ingest and quality control duties for on-air content on sports networks.
• Act as a mentor and subject matter expert, providing peer-to-peer training for NOC operations.

Requirements

• High School Diploma and relevant certification, or Associate's Degree in Media or Communications.
• Unrestricted employment authorization to work in the United States.
• Must be based in Stamford, CT.
• Solid understanding of television production, broadcast operations, and technical production requirements.
• Availability to work any shift, including overnights, weekends, and holidays for a 24x7/365 operation.
• Ability to view mature, repetitive, or controversial content.

Nice to have

• BA/BS degree in a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in an on-air broadcast environment, specifically executing live sports broadcasts.
• Proven knowledge of switchers, routers, communications, ingest, and automation systems.
• Experience with ingest and quality control processes.
