Compensation: $5,964.75 - $8,573.08 CAD Monthly

What you will do

• Oversee the maintenance and operation of 50,000 sq ft of wet and dry laboratory space.
• Manage the HLI Freezer Core, including 24-hour monitoring of biological samples and emergency back-up systems.
• Coordinate with hospital facilities management regarding utilities, HVAC, and building system shutdowns.
• Supervise facility maintenance staff and lead the Emergency Response Team.
• Manage preventative maintenance contracts and oversee the installation of new research equipment.
• Participate in planning committees for facility renovations and new construction projects.

Requirements

• Must be based in Vancouver, BC, Canada
• Technical School Diploma in Housekeeping Management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of two years of related experience in facilities or laboratory management.
• Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams, construction prints, and technical drawings.
• Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace.
• Willingness to complete mandatory hirify.global Safety Courses (Laboratory, Biosafety, Chemical, and Radiation).

Nice to have

• Journeyperson Certification in an appropriate trade.
• Operational experience in Biobanking of biological samples.
• Working knowledge of large building systems such as DDC, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical distribution.
