What you will do

• Own and define the Japan-specific product roadmap, priorities, and requirements.
• Act as the primary voice of the Japanese consumer to drive strategic product direction.
• Lead end-to-end product launches in Japan, coordinating with global product, engineering, and design teams in Bangalore.
• Oversee design quality and commission UX research to ensure products are grounded in real local user needs.
• Localize global features, content, and user flows to match Japanese expectations and behaviors.
• Utilize research, data, and market signals to prioritize features and measure launch impact.

Requirements

• 7–10 years of experience in product management with a track record of shipping consumer products.
• Deep consumer empathy and proven intuition for the Japanese market.
• Experience leading end-to-end product launches in cross-functional environments.
• Ability to scope research questions, interpret findings, and maintain a high bar for design quality.
• Experience influencing senior internal and external stakeholders.
• Must be based in Tokyo, Japan.

Nice to have

• Experience as a market or regional PM localizing global products for Japan.
• Background in large-scale mobile consumer apps, ideally within commerce or content domains.
• Familiarity with UX research methods and collaboration with research teams.
