Cost Engineer

TL;DR

Cost Engineer: Developing and supporting cost proposals and pricing models for government and commercial customers with an accent on RFP compliance, hirify.global estimating system requirements, and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR). Focus on building estimate reviews, presenting cost estimates to management and audit agencies, and supporting negotiations and budget baseline processes.

Location: Hybrid – Buffalo, NY (East Aurora, NY or Salt Lake City, UT)

Salary: $75,000.00–$95,000.00 annually

What you will do

• Lead proposal team(s) and build pricing models based on RFP and hirify.global requirements.
• Develop, analyze, evaluate, coordinate, prepare, and support cost proposals.
• Review RFPs and proposal documents for compliance with customer specifications and company policy.
• Ensure hirify.global Estimating System compliance and interpret RFP requirements.
• Prepare and present cost estimates to management, customer representatives, and government audit agencies.
• Support audit requests, fact-finding, negotiations, and the program budget baseline process.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3 years of relevant experience in cost engineering or a related field.
• Ability to access U.S. export-controlled information.
• Practical knowledge of sales and/or costing principles and practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Ability to travel approximately 20% to customers and hirify.global sites.

Nice to have

• Pricing, sales, or contract-related experience.
• Data analysis and/or data analytics knowledge.
• Understanding of FAR, DFARS, TINA, and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).
