What you will do

• Lead the technical strategy and roadmap for source control, including the migration from GitHub Enterprise to GitHub Cloud.
• Optimize monorepo scalability, focusing on repo structure, branching strategies, code ownership, and CI integration.
• Develop developer-facing tooling and guardrails to reduce toil and improve build times and merge friction.
• Set the technical bar through code reviews, design proposals, and hands-on authority for source control decisions.
• Collaborate with security, platform, and product teams to make source control a strategic asset.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience operating GitHub Enterprise (or equivalent) at scale for organizations with several hundred engineers.
• Deep expertise in monorepo management, including branching strategies and access controls.
• Strong CI/CD integration background using tools like Buildkite, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi) and major cloud platforms.
• Must be based in or able to work in a hybrid setup in Foster City, CA.

Nice to have

• Direct experience migrating from GitHub Enterprise Server to GitHub Cloud.
• Familiarity with monorepo build tooling such as Bazel or Buck.
• Experience with supply-chain hardening practices (signed commits, secret scanning).
• Knowledge of third-party code review tooling like Reviewable or Gerrit.
