Salary: USD 90,000 - 130,000 yearly

What you will do

• Edit and publish stories on deadline in a high-speed digital news environment.
• Refine story structure, flow, tone, and voice to align with the CNBC Make It brand.
• Develop audience-focused headlines and leads to drive engagement.
• Identify emerging trends and assign story ideas in collaboration with reporters and producers.
• Ensure rigorous copy editing and fact-checking to maintain journalistic integrity.
• Collaborate with leadership on content planning and social media strategies.

Requirements

• Unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
• At least five years of editing experience in a digital newsroom or publishing environment.
• Exceptional writing and copyediting skills.
• Strong understanding of digital news production and journalistic standards.
• Proven ability to make complex financial and career topics accessible.
• Experience working effectively under tight deadline pressure.

Nice to have

• Background in finance, economics, or financial planning.
• Experience working with certified experts such as CFPs or tax professionals.
• Proficiency in AP style and basic photo editing.
• Experience at a large digital publisher or financial publication.
