Network Specialist (Cisco)

What you will do

• Perform daily sustainment and troubleshooting in production LAN/WLAN/WAN environments.
• Coordinate and implement hardware/software upgrades and approved network changes.
• Conduct bottleneck and latency analysis and manage device reconfiguration or replacement.
• Utilize SolarWinds, ARMIS, and Ansible for diagnostics and monitoring.
• Provide security barrier support and manage LAN/WAN security.
• Execute onsite touch labor and maintain strict ticket discipline.

Requirements

• DoD 8570.01 / 8570.01-M compliance at IAM Level II or equivalent.
• Security+ and CCNA (or equivalent network architecture certification).
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline + 2 years of experience, or certified technical/vocational school + 3 years of experience.
• Proficiency in TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, DNS, DHCP, and DoD/DHA communications media.
• Experience with OTDR, cable testers, network sniffers, and EIA/TIA cable standards.
• Experience with Cisco Systems, Windows Active Directory, UNIX, and OpenVMS.
