What you will do
- Own delivery outcomes for front-end engineering and QA, ensuring predictable throughput and release readiness.
- Steer the front-end migration programme, including sequencing, approach, and delivery governance.
- Set and maintain front-end standards, including framework usage, TypeScript patterns, and performance best practices.
- Line-manage the Test Manager to ensure robust coverage across manual and automated testing strategies.
- Coordinate with third-party development and QA partners to align on quality expectations and timelines.
- Build a strong engineering culture focused on ownership, continuous improvement, and team development.
Requirements
- Must be based in or able to commute to Loudwater, Buckinghamshire.
- Proven experience leading and line-managing front-end engineering or cross-functional delivery teams.
- Strong technical credibility in modern front-end development, including TypeScript, component-based architecture, and performance.
- Demonstrable experience leading significant front-end change, such as migrations, replatforming, or major refactors.
- Strong understanding of software quality and testing practices with experience partnering closely with QA roles.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate technical trade-offs to non-technical audiences.
Nice to have
- Experience in ecommerce or high-traffic retail trading environments.
- Familiarity with working alongside third-party engineering and external QA providers.
- Experience in experimentation or CRO delivery environments.
