What you will do
- Own New York workplace technology end to end: day-to-day experience for staff and guests, leading Workplace Technology Staff where present and building the team where needed.
- Run technology-side new-hire onboarding on-site: device staging, account/access provisioning, day-one setup, and in-person enablement for workplace tools.
- Own the AV and conferencing estate for meeting rooms, all-hands, and events.
- Program-manage office buildouts’ physical systems (cameras, badge/access control, structured cabling): oversee installers, manage vendors to standards and acceptance tests, and ensure correct network bring-up and ongoing availability.
- Manage local hardware lifecycle (provisioning, stock, repairs, returns) and act as the top escalation point above first-line support.
- Resolve local requests via the shared service desk with common SLAs and automated routing; forecast and oversee local technology spend with Finance.
Requirements
- 6+ years across IT/workplace technology, AV, or facilities-adjacent technical operations, including running on-site buildouts end to end.
- Comfort owning a site and incubating it as the sole technologist before scaling the team.
- Program-management mindset: scope fit-outs, keep installers/vendors/timelines on track, and own budget forecasting.
- On-site role: five days on-site in New York (cannot stage desks or recover meeting rooms remotely).
- Hands-on presence and calm leadership when events or VIP visits depend on technology.
- Standards-minded approach to make each buildout cleaner and higher quality than the last.
Nice to have
- AV and conferencing at scale (room design, signal flow, acceptance testing) with tools like Neat and Zoom Rooms.
- Technical program management of physical installs (structured/low-voltage cabling and commissioning).
- Physical-security infrastructure experience (badge/access control and camera/CCTV, e.g., Verkada).
- Office network fundamentals (e.g., Meraki and local network spine) with the IT Systems team.
- Endpoint and onboarding logistics (macOS provisioning, Jamf / Apple Business Manager, staging hardware) and tools like 1Password.
- Experience with ITSM/service-desk platforms and AI-assisted automation (e.g., Serval, ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, Freshservice).
