What you will do
- Manage and lead all stages of child protection and GBV programmes from strategic formulation to sustainable implementation.
- Establish action plans to ensure programme results according to RBM approaches and ’s Strategic Plans.
- Provide advisory services and technical support to create protective environments for women and children.
- Lead advocacy, networking, and partnership building to protect children's rights to survival and development.
- Drive innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building within the child protection section.
Requirements
- Master's degree in international development, human rights, psychology, sociology, law, or relevant social science.
- Minimum of 10 years of international work experience in child protection, social development planning, or management.
- Proven experience in GBV, humanitarian response, policy advocacy, and systems strengthening.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Must be based in Juba, South Sudan.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language.
- Experience in fragile settings, humanitarian contexts, or with UN system agencies.
- Experience scaling pilot initiatives or supervising workforce professionalization.
- Expertise in evidence-based reintegration for conflict-affected children.
