Location: Hybrid - 3 days onsite in Toronto, ON, Canada
Salary: CAD $175,000–$200,000 base salary

What you will do
- Lead legal onboarding for newly acquired companies, aligning templates and processes to ensure operational independence.
- Build and maintain a self-serve legal resource library including negotiation playbooks and plain-language guidance.
- Manage global IP matters and advise portfolio companies on high-risk employment and commercial disputes.
- Support the General Counsel on HQ strategic matters, entity governance, and M&A post-close claims.
- Drive AI adoption across legal workflows to reduce turnaround time and scale support across the portfolio.
Requirements
- Called to a Canadian Law Society or U.S. state bar in good standing.
- 6-9+ years of experience with significant in-house time at a technology or software company.
- Hands-on experience integrating AI tools into actual legal workflows.
- Strong commercial judgment and ability to draft for operators rather than judges.
- Experience managing external counsel and coordinating cross-functional legal needs.
- Must be based in Toronto, ON for a hybrid work arrangement (3 days onsite).
Nice to have
- Experience with M&A transactions, including purchase agreements and due diligence.
- Familiarity with multi-jurisdiction corporate governance (Canada, US, UK, or Australia).
- Prior experience in a shared services or portfolio legal model.
