TL;DR
Senior AI Engineer (Medtech): Building and operating the AI platform for a healthcare software system with an accent on reusable AI components, production safety, and guardrails for clinicians. Focus on taking LLM and speech capabilities from pilot to production, establishing evaluation frameworks, and creating safe, multi-step agentic workflows.
Location: Must be based in Norway (Oslo, Bergen, Bodø, Stavanger, or remote within Norway)
Salary: 1.2–1.3 MNOK/year

is a startup building an integrated healthcare platform to reduce administrative burdens for Norwegian healthcare professionals.
What you will do
- Develop shared AI building blocks, APIs, and evaluation patterns for other product teams.
- Productionize applied AI capabilities like speech-to-summary and contextual drafting.
- Implement healthcare guardrails, including human-in-the-loop checkpoints and audit trails.
- Establish AI observability, monitoring, and ground-truth validation frameworks.
- Design controlled, goal-driven agentic and multi-step automation flows.
Requirements
- Proven experience shipping applied AI (LLM/speech) into production environments.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals with a focus on reliability and scalability.
- Experience building shared platform components or libraries used by other engineers.
- Habit of using evidence-based evaluation and observability to measure system behavior.
- Experience implementing safe-by-design systems with traceability and guardrails.
- Strong communication and technical writing skills in English.
Nice to have
- Experience with agentic systems or multi-step AI workflows.
- Proficiency with Azure AI Foundry or similar deployment tooling.
- Experience working in highly regulated environments.
- Knowledge of workflow orchestration or event-driven architectures.
