What you will do

• Design and execute quantitative studies to isolate root causes of cost-to-serve movements and quantify improvement opportunities.
• Translate statistical findings into investment recommendations and opportunity sizing for leadership.
• Partner cross-functionally with operations, finance, and supply chain teams to define research questions and validate findings.
• Manage the full research lifecycle from problem framing and data exploration to stakeholder-ready deliverables.
• Apply econometrics, statistical modeling, and ML/AI-assisted analysis to solve complex business problems.
• Continuously improve the team's analytical toolkit by automating repetitive analysis and introducing new scientific methods.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience as a Data Scientist.
• 3+ years of experience with SQL, Python, or other statistical software (e.g., R, SAS).
• 3+ years of experience in machine learning and statistical modeling.
• 1+ years of experience coaching researchers and working with AI systems.
• Master's degree in a STEM field.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Japanese is required.

Nice to have

• Ph.D. in a STEM field.
• Experience defining and creating benchmarks for assessing GenAI model performance.
• Experience in a ML or data scientist role within a large technology company.
• Proven track record of applying quantitative analysis to solve complex business problems.
