TL;DR

Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) Officer: Supporting the delivery of GEDSI strategies and activities for the Pacific Labour Mobility Support Program with an accent on administrative coordination, event planning, and content development. Focus on facilitating inclusive practices, supporting senior leadership, and exploring the application of data and AI to improve program outcomes.

Location: Must be based in Brisbane, Australia. This is a hybrid role requiring at least 50% in-office presence. Valid Australian work rights are mandatory; visa sponsorship and relocation are not available.

What you will do

  • Provide administrative and coordination support for GEDSI activities under the annual plan.
  • Organize travel and logistics for regional workshops and program activities.
  • Coordinate awareness events such as International Women's Day and 16 Days of Activism.
  • Assist senior managers with meeting scheduling, agenda preparation, and minute-taking.
  • Contribute to the development of training materials, guidelines, and best-practice notes.
  • Explore and implement new technologies, including AI and data tools, to improve operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Must be based in Brisbane with valid Australian work rights.
  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Gender Studies, International Development, or related social science.
  • 1-3 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Understanding of gender equality, disability inclusion, and human rights concepts.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, integrity, and ethical development practice.

Nice to have

  • Experience working in the Pacific or Timor-Leste.
  • Ability to facilitate small group discussions.
