TL;DR

Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Program Coordinator: Designing and delivering GBV prevention and response initiatives for the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme with an accent on cultural sensitivity and evidence-based programming. Focus on building partnerships, facilitating training, and integrating GBV risk mitigation across regional development programs.

Location: Must be based in Brisbane or Canberra, Australia, or Suva, Fiji with a mandatory 50% in-office presence. Candidates must possess valid Australian or Fiji work rights; visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

  • Design and deliver GBV activities including training, resources, and awareness events aligned with DFAT standards.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and risk identification to ensure activities remain on track.
  • Build and nurture partnerships with faith-based organizations, service providers, and government agencies across the Pacific and Timor-Leste.
  • Coordinate with the GEDSI team and government stakeholders to integrate GBV prevention into broader program strategies.
  • Develop culturally appropriate educational materials for diverse Pacific and Timor-Leste contexts.
  • Explore the application of AI and data technology to improve program efficiency and impact.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Gender Studies, International Development, or related social science.
  • Professional experience in GBV prevention and/or response programming.
  • Technical expertise in GBV programming within the Pacific or Timor-Leste context.
  • Valid work rights for Australia or Fiji.
  • Strong facilitation, stakeholder engagement, and report writing skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, integrity, and ethical development practices.
