What you will do

  • Own and deliver quarterly goals while leading engineers through ambiguous, open-ended problem spaces.
  • Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics to define technical approaches and evaluate trade-offs.
  • Proactively identify and resolve project, process, and technical issues.
  • Support system availability through monitoring, metrics, and on-call efforts.
  • Foster a culture of quality by setting design standards and mentoring team members.
  • Leverage AI tools and agentic workflows to accelerate prototyping and development cycles.

Requirements

  • Must be based in Canada
  • 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Experience designing and launching backend systems at scale using Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency in shipping web applications with declarative UI frameworks like React or Vue.
  • Strong experience leveraging AI tools and agentic coding workflows for development and problem-solving.
  • Proven ability to define technical plans for significant features with elegant, extensible designs.
