TL;DR

Controller, Business Units (Finance): Leading financial integrity and accounting operations for dynamic business units with an accent on regulatory compliance, audit leadership, and strategic financial insight. Focus on bridging day-to-day business activity with corporate requirements, driving process automation, and supporting M&A initiatives.

Location: Must be based in or able to commute to South Charlotte, NC. This role requires a hybrid schedule (in-office Tuesday through Thursday, remote Mondays and Fridays).

What you will do

• Own financial accuracy, revenue recognition, and profitability reporting for assigned business units.
• Oversee monthly close processes and drive simplification to improve quality and efficiency.
• Lead regulatory and international audit execution while partnering with corporate controllers.
• Translate financial results into actionable insights to support leadership decision-making and investment evaluation.
• Act as a strategic bridge between business unit operations and enterprise financial requirements.
• Lead M&A integration activities and contribute to ERP governance and systems transformation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and active CPA license required.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including senior leadership roles.
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
• Proven experience leading external and regulatory audit processes.
• Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and lead high-performing accounting departments.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (Workday preferred) and advanced Excel skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI tools such as Claude for financial analysis and automation.
• Prior experience in M&A and systems transformation projects.
