TL;DR

Electrician (Aerospace): Developing and maintaining Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test benches and electrical infrastructure for modular space orbital vehicles with an accent on signal integrity, harness fabrication, and EMI/EMC compliance. Focus on building complex test setups, troubleshooting electrical systems, and ensuring high-reliability standards for spaceflight hardware.

Location: Munich, Germany (Relocation assistance provided).

Compensation: €57,000 – €72,500.

The Exploration Company is developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle designed for cargo transport and future human spaceflight.

What you will do

  • Design, build, and wire HIL test benches, racks, and electrical harnesses for spaceflight and ground test systems.
  • Assemble and integrate electrical infrastructure, including power distribution, signal routing, grounding, and shielding.
  • Support the setup and operation of HIL test benches by integrating hardware with simulators and instrumentation.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot signal integrity issues, intermittent connections, and EMI/EMC-related effects.
  • Maintain accurate wiring schematics, cable lists, test logs, and configuration documentation.
  • Collaborate with HIL, system, and software engineers to support test readiness and failure investigations.

Requirements

  • Technical diploma or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on electrical work, preferably in aerospace or high-reliability environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in assembling and wiring HIL test benches or complex test setups.
  • Strong ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, pin-outs, and harness drawings.
  • Practical experience in cable and harness fabrication, including crimping, soldering, and connector assembly.
  • Familiarity with aerospace or industrial standards such as ECSS, MIL-STD, or IPC.

Nice to have

  • Experience with spacecraft avionics, GSE, or propulsion test systems.
  • Proficiency with electrical test equipment like oscilloscopes, signal generators, and harness testers.
