What you will do
- Perform preventative and emergency maintenance on equipment at customer sites.
- Test, diagnose, and resolve issues across electromechanical systems (including mechanical embossers, thermal image application/laminating, magstripe/chip data writing, and ultraviolet curing).
- Handle day-to-day repairs such as cleaning rollers/sensors/cavities, calibrating sensors and data read/write devices, and evaluating/replacing worn or misaligned parts (e.g., servo/stepper motors, spindles, clutches, belts, bearings).
- Use repair/service manuals and test equipment (e.g., voltmeter and laptop) plus hand tools to troubleshoot card printer systems.
- Maintain inventory levels using the ERP platform and follow service activity reporting and dispatch processes.
- Drive daily to customer sites, interact with customer operations staff, and resolve most issues independently while modeling values.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of electromechanical technician experience.
- Proficient troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to drive to multiple customer sites daily; valid and active driver’s license with insurability if applicable.
- Willingness to work flexible hours/shifts, travel when required, and be on-call (including temporary off-site short-term assignments).
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. and spend most of the shift sitting, bending, stooping, and walking; overtime required as needed.
Nice to have
- Associate degree in Electronics or related field, or equivalent verifiable training.
- Additional electromechanical technician or field service experience.
- Experience with central issuance and advanced technical education.
- Proficiency in electro-mechanics, digital electronics, and software required to maintain and third-party products.
- Skilled with electronic test equipment and tools.
