Salary: $156,400 - $234,700 annually

What you will do

• Lead performance and sustaining improvements across memory and execution systems ensuring correctness and reliability under complex workloads
• Drive root cause analysis and systemic engineering improvements for memory pressure and execution-path issues
• Lead cross-team technical investigations involving SQL engine, OS, networking, and infrastructure teams
• Develop diagnostic playbooks and best practices for memory-focused system behavior
• Deliver targeted code fixes and enhancements in memory- and execution-related paths
• Collaborate with system performance engineering to address concurrency and memory challenges

Requirements

• Must be located in or near San Diego or El Segundo, CA, USA
• 10+ years experience in distributed systems, database engines, or large-scale data platforms
• Strong expertise in diagnosing complex memory, OS, networking, and concurrency issues in production
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• Experience with OS-level diagnostics, scripting (Python), and cloud infrastructure concepts
• Proven ability to lead technical investigations and influence cross-team engineering decisions
