What you will do

• Develop machine learning approaches to optimize optical communication systems and network tradeoffs.
• Create and generalize theoretical models across various network layers.
• Apply importance sampling and feature engineering to reduce architecture complexity.
• Integrate end-to-end frameworks into network design and management solutions via interface programming.
• Lead internal subprojects and collaborate with national and international research partners.
• Perform due diligence and technical analysis of third-party and supplier solutions.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in a relevant field (PhD track).
• Experience with Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Scala, Spark) and modern ML frameworks.
• Proficiency in Java, R, Python, and data structures.
• Knowledge of SDN, NFV, network layers, applied statistics, and information theory.
• English: Fluent (C1) required.
• Location: Must be based in or able to work in Meiningen, Germany.
