What you will do
- Design and optimize lipid-based nanoparticle formulations to enhance stability and performance.
- Develop strategies for externally triggerable drug release, specifically focusing on ultrasound responsiveness.
- Conduct computational simulations using Coarse-Grained Molecular Dynamics (CGMD) to model nanoparticle properties.
- Perform empirical validation of simulated properties using in vitro studies and tumor-on-chip platforms.
- Collaborate with the SPARC consortium and industrial partners including Merck KGaA and Johnson & Johnson.
Requirements
- MSc or equivalent in Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Physical Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Nanotechnology, or a related field.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to bridge computational simulations and experimental validation.
- English proficiency required for academic communication, course participation, and thesis writing.
- Must be based in or able to relocate to the Netherlands.
Nice to have
- Experience in lipid-based nanoparticle formulations.
- Experience with coarse-grained molecular dynamic simulations.
