TL;DR

Software Security Analyst (Embedded Security): Performing deep technical analysis of embedded systems to identify vulnerabilities at the hardware/software boundary with an accent on firmware, boot code, and secure design. Focus on uncovering exploitable weaknesses, applying AI-assisted discovery workflows, and collaborating with developers to implement mitigations.

Location: Gratkorn, Austria (Hybrid/Home Office)

What you will do

  • Conduct in-depth vulnerability analysis of embedded software, including bare-metal, RTOS, and trusted execution environments.
  • Analyze boot flows, privilege boundaries, and security-critical components such as crypto libraries and isolation mechanisms.
  • Perform root cause analysis to assess the exploitability and impact of identified weaknesses.
  • Develop and apply analysis methodologies using static analysis, fuzzing, and automation.
  • Integrate AI-assisted techniques and LLM-based workflows for code analysis and vulnerability discovery.
  • Collaborate with development teams to translate security findings into concrete mitigations.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of low-level system behavior, including memory layout, interrupts, and privilege levels.
  • Proficiency in C programming and familiarity with ARM and/or RISC-V architectures.
  • Experience with assembly-level debugging and analysis.
  • Must be based in or able to work from Gratkorn, Austria.

Nice to have

  • Experience with reverse engineering, exploit development, or vulnerability research.
  • Familiarity with fuzzing, symbolic execution, or static/dynamic analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of common vulnerability classes such as memory corruption and side channels.
  • Experience with JTAG, trace, or GDB debugging interfaces.
  • Rust experience or interest in memory-safe system design.
