Fincrime Escalations Officer

Location: Krakow, Vilnius, Porto offices and remote work from Lithuania, Poland, Portugal with work permitted only within Europe.

What you will do

• Act as escalation point for suspicious activity cases requiring second line of defence review.
• Ensure accurate and timely submission of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) per local regulations.
• Support MLRO in AML/CFT, sanctions, and financial crime matters.
• Monitor and report emerging suspicious activity trends and patterns.
• Develop and maintain internal policies, procedures, and escalation frameworks aligned with legal requirements.
• Collaborate with authorities and support external reporting and audits.

Requirements

• Fluency in English and at least one of French, German, or Italian.
• Experience as a compliance or financial crime officer in a major financial institution.
• Deep knowledge of AML and sanctions regulations.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with ability to analyze complex information.
• Understanding of payment systems and mobile application technologies.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of XML and proficiency in SQL.
• Experience in process development and improvement.
• Familiarity with case management systems and transaction monitoring tools.
• Expertise in data analysis and translating data into actionable insights.
• Experience working with regulators, FIUs, or law enforcement requests.
