Business Development Representative (AI): Driving top-of-funnel growth for a mission-critical AI platform serving public safety and government agencies with an accent on field engagement, event-based lead generation, and strategic outreach. Focus on building qualification frameworks, managing high-velocity sales pipelines, and navigating complex government procurement cycles.

Location: Must be based in or able to work from offices in San Francisco, CA, or Washington, DC. Role requires up to 50% travel throughout the U.S.

Salary: $95,000 - $115,000 Annually + Commission + Equity + Bonus

What you will do

  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and agency meetings to generate and qualify leads.
  • Execute multi-channel outbound strategies to build relationships with law enforcement and emergency management agencies.
  • Manage the full lead lifecycle, from initial outreach to booking discovery and demo meetings for Account Executives.
  • Refine talk tracks, objection handling, and qualification frameworks based on performance data.
  • Maintain accurate records of pipeline activity and territory insights within the CRM.
  • Collaborate across marketing, sales, and engineering teams to support deal progression.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in sales, business development, or customer-facing roles.
  • Must be able to work out of offices in San Francisco, CA, or Washington, DC.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time throughout the U.S.
  • Proven track record of performing in demanding, high-velocity environments.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with the ability to adapt messaging on the fly.
  • Strong time management, CRM hygiene, and attention to detail.

Nice to have

  • Demonstrated interest in public safety, public service, or local government.
  • Experience with events, trade shows, or field programs.
  • Familiarity with government procurement cycles or law enforcement hierarchies.
