Program Manager (Data Center Construction)

TL;DR

Program Manager (Data Center Construction): Leading the end-to-end execution of large-scale data center and infrastructure construction programs with an accent on strategic planning, risk management, and cross-functional leadership. Focus on delivering mission-critical facilities on aggressive schedules to support xAI’s AI supercomputing goals.

Location: Must be based in the Memphis, TN / Southaven, MS area, with travel required to support additional project sites across the US.

What you will do

• Provide strategic leadership and direct management to a team of Construction Project Managers.
• Oversee end-to-end execution of large-scale construction programs, including planning, site development, procurement, and commissioning.
• Align program deliverables with infrastructure roadmaps and AI compute requirements through collaboration with engineering and executive teams.
• Manage program-level budgets, master schedules, and contingency plans to ensure on-time delivery.
• Act as a senior owner’s representative, managing relationships with general contractors, vendors, and permitting authorities.
• Drive standardized processes, performance metrics, and safety compliance across all project sites.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience in construction project/program management, specifically in data centers or mission-critical infrastructure.
• 5+ years of direct people management experience leading project teams.
• Proven track record of delivering complex programs on aggressive schedules.
• Strong technical knowledge of civil, structural, and MEP disciplines.
• Ability to travel as needed and work flexible hours to support site operations.

Nice to have

• Experience with hyperscale builds, liquid cooling, or power infrastructure.
• Professional certifications such as PMP, CCM, PE, or LEED.
• Familiarity with Memphis/Shelby County permitting and construction practices.
