Location: Onsite in Washington, DC

What you will do

  • Lead the review and analysis of Head Start and Early Head Start grant applications, budget modifications, and waiver requests.
  • Oversee grant-related documentation and recording in federal systems such as HSES and GrantSolutions.
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies and provide policy-aligned technical assistance to grant recipients.
  • Mentor and lead Program Support Specialists, managing workloads and ensuring quality assurance.
  • Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures, guidance documents, and training materials.
  • Prepare management briefings and reports for Government leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, human services, public administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in early childhood programs (Head Start or Early Head Start preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience with federal discretionary grants management and regulatory compliance monitoring.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check.
  • Must obtain and maintain client background clearance.

Nice to have

  • Experience synthesizing data from multiple sources to inform oversight and decision-making.
  • Ability to produce high-quality written reports, memoranda, and presentations.
  • Strong knowledge of Head Start program operations and federal compliance requirements.
