What you will do
- Direct construction managers, site superintendents, and commissioning managers; set construction objectives, goals, methods, schedules, and strategies.
- Oversee project deployment to ensure work is safe, timely, and profitable; ensure invoices are collected and report budget/progress to the VP.
- Coordinate design activities from assessment through construction document completion; review plans and coordinate external consultants.
- Lead pre-construction coordination, including contractual/general requirements, incorporation of client requirements, and development of accurate project budgets.
- Drive safety compliance by ensuring OSHA and client/industry safety standards are met for staff and subcontractors.
- Own business development in the region: protect client interests, promote services to existing and potential clients, and expand the client base into new markets.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of construction-related experience, including construction contract requirements/administration and experience in designing mechanical/electrical systems.
- Experience with mechanical, electrical, and controls systems; project management, estimating, and field installation supervision.
- Ability to write scopes of work into subcontract exhibits and implement contract documents aligned with company interests.
- Knowledge of applicable codes and standards for the facilities worked on; strong communication and effective project management skills.
- Proficiency in English (read, write, and communicate).
- Occasional travel required (approximately 10%-15%) and ability to work varying shift times (including nights/weekends) as needed by projects.
Nice to have
- Mission-critical experience; leadership experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction, business, or engineering (or equivalent experience); professional engineering license.
- Master mechanical or master electrical license; Procore experience.
- Construction experience in retrofit/renovation and new construction.
