What you will do

• Review vehicle response strategies for fault conditions from all potential sources.
• Develop and manage test planning and execution for safety and fail-operational responses.
• Design and direct system-level V&V campaigns and establish novel testing methodologies and metrics.
• Collaborate with system safety, perception, firmware, vehicle controls, and planning teams.
• Analyze and report complex test results to drive platform improvements and document new methodologies.
• Apply V&V expertise to the compute-platform safety case to accelerate platform development.

Requirements

• BS or higher degree in Electrical, Computer, or Systems Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in V&V processes for safety-critical systems and safety cases.
• Expertise in fault detection, mitigation systems, and verifying diagnostic coverage.
• Strong background in system-level testing and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) or physical vehicle testing.
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis and basic knowledge of probability and statistics.
• Must be based in or able to work from Foster City, CA on a hybrid basis.

Nice to have

• Experience with quantitative risk analysis or statistical reliability analysis.
• Experience in fault protection system design and validation.
• Familiarity with functional safety standards like ISO 26262, ARP 4754, ARP 4761, or IEC 51511.
