What you will do

• Develop, maintain, and upstream the open-source hfi1 kernel driver and related RDMA subsystems.
• Partner with silicon architects to define hardware-software contracts and register interfaces.
• Design zero-copy data paths to minimize buffer copies and maximize CPU-bypass capabilities.
• Debug complex kernel-space concurrency issues, race conditions, and memory leaks.
• Represent the company within the Linux Kernel Mailing List and open-source networking communities.
• Maintain system build environments and automated integration tests.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States
• 3+ years of professional experience writing production-grade C code inside the Linux kernel.
• Direct experience with RDMA, InfiniBand Verbs, RoCE, or high-performance user-space bypass frameworks.
• Strong understanding of PCIe architectures, DMA engines, and MMIO.
• Hands-on proficiency with kernel analysis tools like KASAN, ftrace, and kprobes.
• BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Active track record of contributions to upstream kernel.org.
• Familiarity with kernel storage protocols like Lustre or NFS.
• Experience with GPU-direct communication technologies.
