TL;DR

Location: Remote (Must be based in the contiguous 48 states of the United States). Travel up to 20% to Fort Worth, TX is required.

Salary: $165,000 - $300,000

What you will do

• Design and implement scalable platform services, including messaging systems, microservices, and serverless runtimes.
• Develop APIs and automation tools to improve platform integration and operational efficiency.
• Build and maintain monitoring and alerting systems using Prometheus and Grafana to ensure operational excellence.
• Apply AI/ML to develop high-speed, large-scale predictions on distributed systems.
• Drive the technical and architectural vision for core freight movement software and owner large-scale complex systems.
• Mentor and grow other engineers, including senior-level staff, and establish coding best practices.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Minimum 6 years of software development experience.
• 6+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language (e.g., Java, JavaScript, TypeScript).
• Experience with distributed systems and technologies like Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQL/NoSQL, and serverless platforms.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and DevOps practices.
• Proven experience as a mentor or tech lead within an engineering team.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
• Engineering experience with public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Familiarity with frameworks like React, Angular, Node.js, and Spring Boot.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and production-scale distributed systems.
